Hidden Camera Detector Finder
Privacy Policy
Effective September 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how byeshe (the “Service Provider,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Hidden Camera Detector Finder mobile application (the “Application”). The Application is provided as a freemium service.
Information you provide
The Application does not require you to create an account. It stores information you choose to enter, such as area/room names and types, checklist status, inspection findings and reports, and detector settings, so it can organize your inspections and remember your preferences. If you contact us for support, we receive the information in your message, such as your email address and anything you choose to include.
Camera and on-device lens detection
If you grant camera permission, the Lens detector uses a live camera preview to look for lens-like reflections on your device, and the Photo detector lets you capture a still image and mark spots you want to compare. This analysis runs on your device. Preview frames are not saved or uploaded. A photo you explicitly capture is written only to the Application’s private storage (not a shared gallery) and is referenced in your local findings by file name; it is not uploaded to our servers.
A detected reflection or a flagged spot is informational only — it does not confirm the presence of a hidden camera or recording device.
Magnetic-field sweep
If your device has a magnetometer, the Magnetic detector reads its magnetic-field sensor to look for anomalies that can indicate nearby electronics. Sensor readings are processed on your device; only the resulting anomaly level and any note you save are kept in your local findings.
Wi-Fi network scanning
With Wi-Fi and local-network permissions, the Wi-Fi detector checks devices on the local network your phone is connected to. It does this by probing a fixed set of common ports and using a standard network “reachability” check — it does not use root access, and it cannot read your router’s full device list the way a router admin page can. Results (such as a device’s local IP address, any name or metadata it exposes, and whether it looks suspicious) are stored in your local findings. This feature only looks at devices on your current Wi-Fi network; it does not browse the broader internet or identify who owns a device.
Bluetooth scanning
With Bluetooth permission, the Bluetooth detector scans for nearby Bluetooth devices and estimates an approximate distance from signal strength, to help you spot an unfamiliar device nearby. The Application declares Bluetooth scanning as “never for location” with Android, meaning it does not use Bluetooth scan results to determine your physical location. On Android 11 and earlier, the operating system requires location permission to perform a Bluetooth scan at all; the Application requests this only to satisfy that OS requirement and does not otherwise use it to determine your location.
Location
On Android 11 and earlier only, the Application requests precise location (fine location) permission because those Android versions require it to run a Bluetooth scan, as described above; the Application itself does not read or store your coordinates for this purpose. Granting this permission is optional — declining it only disables Bluetooth scanning on those OS versions, and the rest of the Application continues to work.
Where this permission is granted, our advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention service providers (listed under Third-party services below) may also access and process precise location data for ad personalization and measurement, usage analytics, and fraud/abuse prevention, consistent with the Data safety section of our Google Play Store listing. Service providers may also infer a coarse location, such as a country or region, from an IP address for security, analytics, consent, or advertising purposes.
Local storage, backup, and notifications
- Areas, checklist status, inspection findings and reports, and photo evidence are stored in the Application’s private storage on your device.
- Only your detector settings are included if Android’s automatic cloud backup or device-transfer is enabled on your device; findings, sessions, and photo evidence are deliberately excluded from that backup so they stay on your device.
- You can delete areas and findings in the Application, or remove all locally stored Application data by clearing app data or uninstalling the Application.
Information collected automatically
The Application and its service providers may automatically process limited technical and usage information, such as device and operating-system information, app version, language, coarse region inferred from an IP address, advertising or app-instance identifiers, install-referrer information, feature interactions (for example which detector you opened, or that a finding or report was saved — not its content), purchase status, crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data. We use this information to operate the Application, understand aggregate usage, prevent abuse, fix problems, configure features, and support advertising and purchases.
Analytics events are designed not to include camera frames, photo evidence, sensor readings, or the content of your findings and notes. Those items exist only in local storage as described above.
Advertising and consent choices
The free version of the Application may display ads through Google AdMob and mediation partners. Depending on your region, device settings, and consent choices, advertising providers may process advertising identifiers, usage information, and — on Android 11 and earlier, where the Bluetooth-related location permission described above has been granted — precise location, to deliver, measure, limit, or personalize ads. Where required, the Application presents a consent form, including a separate choice for precise location where applicable. You can adjust advertising privacy settings on your device. A Google Play premium option may be offered to remove ads and/or unlock additional features.
Purchases and payment
Any purchase is processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. The Application may receive product, transaction, entitlement, and purchase-status information needed to provide purchased features, restore access, prevent fraud, and offer support.
Third-party services
The Application uses services that process data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Play Services and Google Play
- Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Remote Config
- Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform
- Google Payments
- Meta Audience Network and Meta App Events
- TikTok / Pangle
- AppLovin
- Liftoff Monetize (Vungle)

When information may be disclosed
We may disclose information to service providers acting on our behalf; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect rights, safety, and security; to investigate fraud or abuse; or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell your findings, photo evidence, or sensor data.
Retention and your choices
Locally stored content remains on your device until you delete it, clear Application data, or uninstall the Application. Automatically collected data is retained according to the settings and policies of the relevant service provider and only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. You can stop future collection by uninstalling the Application.
For questions or requests concerning information held directly by us, contact play@byeshe.com. We may need information sufficient to verify and process your request. We cannot delete findings or photo evidence that exists only on your device.
Children
The Application is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device. Granting camera, Bluetooth, or local-network permission is optional where the system allows it, but the corresponding detector will not work without it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Application after an update means the revised policy applies.
